Farewell EducaNext

EducaNext will be shut down with 22nd February, 2012. I have been responsible for designing and implementing the repository module of the platform, so I have been a bit nostalgic when I learned about this. EducaNext's second generation was built on top of the .lrn learning management system, and written mainly in XoTcl. The repository module was essentially a collaborative filestore, and provided some sophisticated features for creating forms, and for managing user and group permissions. Educanext also had a nice module for managing contacts. A new iteration of the project would probably need to leverage existing functionality from social platforms (Facebook) and cloud document management tools (Google docs).
